The main opposition UNP’s PC elections campaign will be launched today from Wennappuwa and Narammala with the participation of party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, a senior party source said.
“Our main provincial council election propaganda campaign will begin tomorrow with the party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe addressing two rallies at Wennappuwa and Narammala,” General Secretary of the UNP, Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayaka said yesterday.
The last propaganda rally will be on February 11, at Kandy. Other main campaign rallies scheduled to be addressed by Wickremesinghe will be held at Dik-oya, Kundasale, Kegalle, Kandy and Kurunegala.
The minority party leaders who support the UNP; SLMC leader Rauf Hakeem, Western People’s Front leader Mano Ganeshan and SLFP –M group leader Mangala Smaraweera are also lined to address these meetings organized by Mr. Attanayaka. - Daily Mirror
