Ranil trying to get PM s post in Fonseka s Govt.: Wimal

03 December 2009

National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa said yesterday that the next Presidential election is the second chapter of the second independent struggle which is going to be held on January 26. The first independent struggle was the  defeat of terrorism, he said.

Addressing a Special Convention of the National Freedom Front at the Sugathadasa stadium MP Weerawansa said that the government expects to develop the country’s economy, Buddhist heritage, the education sector and reduce unemployment.

“Mr. Wickremesinghe is trying to get the Executive Prime Minister post in Fonseka’s government” he said .

“Mr. Wickremesinghe knows his capacity,  if  he can win the Presidential election, he would  have  never given an opportunity for  Sarath Fonseka to contest the presidential election.  S.B. Dissanayake and Karu Jayasuriya are also waiting to see his defeat”, Weerawansa  said.

“Wickremesinghe could not defeat the President but he has said he could get  more votes than Sarath Fonseka after the election”, he added.

“The UNP said that the common candidate has come for temporary purposes but  Sarath Fonseka is talking about the country’s economy as well as a solution beyond the 13th  Amendment”, he said .   “The JVP should be against foreign forces according to my political knowledge, but who is Wickremesinghe?” asked Weerawansa.

July 26 is a historical day for Cuba,  I hope January 26 will be a historical day for Sri Lanka because President Mahinda Rajapaksa will definitely get a bigger per-centage of votes.
