The present UPFA government does not have any political philosophy or policy says Parliamentarian of the UPFA Wijedasa Rajapakse. He said this participating in an interview with ‘Lakbima’ weekend Sinhalese newspaper.Speaking further Mr. Rajapakse has said, “Any party should have its own policies. However, the policies followed by the present UPFA government are not the ones we formulated as ‘Mahinda Chinthanaya.’ Most of the people in the government today are those who mercilessly attacked and did not agree with the ‘Mahinda Chinthanaya’ policies. The present government does not have a political philosophy or any policies. Those in the government at present are opportunists and work for their own personal gains only.
The masses in the South have lit a red light for the government. This could be seen from two angles. The government had won a military victory and the people in the South, specially, should have given the government a victory of more than 85%. However, the government received only 67%. On the other hand nearly 500,000 people had not used their votes. Also the government which received 81% of the votes at Monaragala when it came to the South received only 67% which is a drastic fall in two months. The people in the South have shown that people cannot be deceived all the time,” said Mr. Rajapakse.
